Also, in the teaser video, you quickly see words, “When blue and yellow meet in the west”, and in the poster, Eleven is wearing blue, Mike is wearing yellow. They are the ones that have the most connection to it, the ones most rooted in it, so them being able to sense something makes sense. First up, it is really cool and makes sense that Will and Eleven are the ones that can sense things from the Upside Down. Mike is looking at Eleven’s concerned expression, he can tell that she senses something. Dustin, Max, and Lucas are looking at the fireworks, but Will and Eleven looking back shows that they know something is wrong, that something is watching them. It’s clear that some kinda town fair is happening in Hawkins and it’s the 4th of July, and the kids have went to a hill to look at fireworks together. Getting into the center of the poster, we get a look at the characters, and a fair below. Now I could be very wrong of course, maybe this is some hidden meaning to them, but I doubt it. Getting into the fireworks, I could be wrong, but I don’t think there’s anything special or hidden about them. So again, the idea of this being the craziest and most dramatic season yet and maybe of the whole show is very exciting. If you jumped ahead to now and looked at the characters in modern day, 2019, right now, if you asked them which event of the show affected them the most, they’d answer something that happens in Season 3. Maybe what happens in this season will affect everyone forever, nobody will be the same. After Season 1, Mike was still dealing with Eleven vanishing and Will was still dealing with the trauma of being stuck in the Upside Down, and Season 2 ended with Joyce dealing with the death of Bob, so of course the effects of Season 2 will be felt in Season 3, especially since it’s only been 7 months, but the characters will still probably be able to go back to normal lives after. With Season 1 and Season 2, while everyone went through some dramatic events, everyone seemed to be able to go back to normal lives after. One thing I could see is this season really affecting everyone and everything after. They seem to make it clear that the events of this season will be the most dramatic yet, and that it will feature the craziest events yet, and that nobody will be the same ever. The Duffer Brothers has confirmed that the show will be no more than 5 seasons, it might be just 4, so if this is the penultimate season, it makes sense to make it very dramatic to set up the conclusion.

Anyway, so whereas Stranger Things Season 2 took place a year after Stranger Things Season 1, Season 3 will jump ahead about 6 months it looks like.
So the poor kids from Summer of 84 are meanwhile facing their first summer after those crazy events last summer.
